Description
The Tonic is Beulah’s Skagit style shooting head, designed for spey casting with sink tips and large flies.
We’ve fished extensively with these lines for steelhead and can provide a few observations. The Tonic head’s loops are very durable and hold up better than most. The head is slightly longer than most other Skagit heads on the market, making it a great choice for rods 13′ and longer. It also casts well with shorter rods and allows anglers to form a larger D loop, resulting in tight loops and high line speed. The line does have a continuous taper, so that larger diameter line is always turning over smaller diameter line, smoothly transferring energy from the rod to the sink tip and fly.
